Turkish Industry Sets Record for the First Five Months’ Exports
Turkish exports continue to reach records month after month, year after year, despite the turbulent geopolitical climate in the region, which has had a significant impact on export traffic in the region.
According to the latest official statistics, during the first five months of this year, Turkey's industrial sector exports reached $76 billion and $947 million, achieving the highest value for exports in the first five months of Turkey's foreign trade history.
12 Subsectors of Industry Achieve the Highest Exports
In details of Turkey's industrial export figures, 14 subsectors made mixed progress in exports for the first five months, with 12 of them registering the highest figure for the first five months.
The chemicals and manufacturing sectors topped the most exported industrial sectors in the first five months, with exports of $13 billion and $606 million, with 41.6% progress compared to exports in the first five months of last year.
The automotive industry ranked second among the most exported industrial sectors in the first five months, with exports of $12 billion and $491 million, an annual increase of 3.8%.
It was followed by steel in third place, with exports of $9.615 million, up 34.6% from the first five months of last year.

Germany Tops Importing Countries for Turkish Industries
With regard to the distribution of industry exports in Turkey to world markets, the German market was at the forefront of the most imported markets for Turkish industries, during the first five months of this year, and the export figures of the most exported industrial sectors to Germany were as follows:

The UK market has also emerged among the markets where Turkish industrial exports achieved the highest figures in the first five months, led by the electrical and electronics sector, with exports of $662.80,000, and exports of other manufacturers to the UK amounting to $4.421,000 during the first five months.
The chemicals and manufacturing sector exported $907.940,000 worth of exports to the Netherlands in the first five months, and textile and raw materials exports to the Italian market achieved $77 million in exports.
For exports of Turkish manufacturers to the United States of America during the first five months, they are as follows:
- Jewellery sector with exports of $432.705,000.
- Cement, ceramics and soil products with exports of $383.466,000.
- Carpet industry with exports of $354.423,000.
The ship and yacht services sector achieved its highest exports to the Norwegian market, with exports of $215.362,000 during the first five months.
